Dr Abdul Rehman

Abdul has dedicated his life to working in the veterinary field, and has practiced as a veterinary surgeon in the local area for far too many years to mention! He enjoys constantly learning and building on his knowledge and gaining experience in a wide variety of veterinary fields. Abdul loves the challenges that animals bring, and he always works hard to help his clients and their pets in every way he can.
He regularly gets to work alongside the local Derby RSPCA branch. He finds it extremely rewarding to see all the great work they are doing to help and support so many animals each year! Abdul has a large team of dedicated nurses who always strive to help support each client and animal depending on their individual needs, so that we can provide them with the best care possible.

Jonathan Hadley

Jonathan qualified from Cambridge in 1998 and has practised in the small animal field ever since. He has further qualifications in small animal surgery and exotic animal medicine. He is also an advanced practitioner in both fields. Jonathan’s interests lie in avian orthopaedics, reptile surgery, minimal invasive surgery, ear nose and throat investigations and reconstructive surgery. He has a cat named Sheldon.     


Jo has been a qualified veterinary nurse since 1999 and has worked in a variety of veterinary practices including working on emergency critical care wards. She has two beautiful rescue dogs. Margo is a Terrier cross who believes she was a princess in a former life and Oscar the black Labrador. She also has a horse called Lenny!

Charlotte qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2015, graduating from Middlesex University with a degree in veterinary nursing. She has one dog named Breezy who she loves taking for long walks and playing ball games with! Charlotte is a very experienced horse rider.


Michelle is a newly qualified veterinary nurse and has been working in the veterinary industry for 10 years. She has helped rescue and rear many cats and kittens over the years helping them find new loving homes. She has two cats, two rabbits, nine geckos and one snake! She enjoys spending her time going for walks and horse riding.

Sabrina has been working in the veterinary industry for 8 years and before that she worked as an animal carer in a pet shop for a variety of different species. She holds a GNVQ and has extensive knowledge and experience in the reptile and exotic world! Sabrina has four cats, two parrots, three snakes, one lizard, two tarantulas and a ton of locusts!

Leah ANA, Animal Care L3, Pet Health Counsellor, Diploma in canine psychology

Leah has been working in various veterinary practices for 11 years. She is a fully qualified canine psychologist, specialises in nutrition, and has recently become a fully qualified Pet Health Counsellor. She has been dog sitting for 20 years, having the opportunity to care for a wide variety of breeds. In her spare time she fosters and rehabilitates dogs that have been treated badly or developed severe behavioural issues while they wait to find their perfect forever homes! She has a deaf cocker spaniel and a very springy springer spaniel, who love to help all the foster dogs find their feet!

Amy has work experience in various animal related industries including a dog groomer, zoo keeper, pet shop, aquarium, cattery and rescue centres. She has worked in the practice for 3 years, successfully completing a degree in animal behaviour and welfare, along with 2 diplomas in animal management and animal care. She currently has 5 cats, 2 dogs, 2 rabbits, and a naughty hamster called Tedward. Amy is a student veterinary nurse here at Blagreaves Veterinary Centre and enjoys rescuing wildlife in her spare time. She is excited about setting up her own charity in the near future.


Previously worked at our local Derby RSPCA for many years, as a residential animal care assistant, helping to care for all the abandoned and unwanted animals. Stacey has rescued 3 cats called Sonny, Kazooie, and Baby.

Kirstie Animal Care Level 3

Kirstie is here with us for a year of work experience as part of her Veterinary nursing degree. She has had work experience in a variety of veterinary practices, farms and canine shelters. She has a keen interest in exotic species. Kirstie has 2 dogs, a cat, a bearded dragon and 3 royal pythons!
